Thankfulness...

As we enjoyed each others companionship, great food, a warm fire and a peaceful moment yesterday I looked around and felt a surge of gratitude and bliss.  I have so much to be thankful for.
I wanted to mention that before I have to post an announcement for those who didn't catch my recent transition, and an update for those who realize what's going on.

I no longer have a market stand,
I no longer have an online store with Etsy ( ThatOneThing and ThinkNatural are both closed),
I am not planning on anything specific for the future but as I figure out if there is anything else I will be doing I will let you all know.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement during the years of enjoying these business ventures.

My hope for each of you is to have a peaceful, natural, healthy holiday season...

Thank you!

Already?

I cannot believe we are looking at August this weekend already.  This summer is really flying by, I know that is said way too often, but this time I am really feeling it!

We recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary of living in New Mexico- this has been an exciting and amazing year.  We have had some trials and many joys and are so pleased we made this move.

And now it's time for another move, we are leaving our apartment complex with the 3rd floor space that has outside steps, leaving the beautiful view of the Sandia mountains, leaving the traffic and noise that are a constant background buzz...and we are moving into a little adobe gem which will actually be central to all my hubby's work, be on the quiet end of a street, have a lovely yard and garden area and walking trails right there yet within the city of Albuquerque.

So in making this announcement I am letting you know I will be a little even less attentive to the intenet for the next few weeks. I know, I need to work on this!

I will still keep my Saturday routine and be at Los Ranchos Market each week from 7am-noon.  I will have my Etsy shops open but I will also have a treat for before the whole move-  This is the announcement from my vintage shop ThatOneThing

MOVING SALE! Use coupon code MOVING30 and get 30% off your purchase- NO minimum!
Change, it is inevitable...since my husband and I are moving in 3 weeks and I would rather sell my stock than have to pack it and move it- so you can benefit from my change!
We are only moving across town and I will continue my shop, I will just be changing my address a little. So browse my shop, I will be listing anything else I find lurking here that needs to go.
I may have found what you were looking for...take a look!

So stop on by, buy some things, enjoy! (and make my move easier ;o)

In the mean time remember there are some products on the other Etsy shop(Thinknatural) but after the move you will be seeing the rest, I guess running 2 businesses from home will take more coordination and effort than I have had, I should be able to give more, after the move.

Take care,

BettyK

Lavender...who knew?

I am preparing for a Lavender Festival this weekend, I am scheduled to give a short demo and have been researching the qualities and uses for this amazingly versatile plant.  I am really impressed.  I hope you can come out to join  me in the festivities, in case you can't though I thought I would just throw a few tidbits here for your pleasure...enjoy!

  • use dried lavender for decor- a wreath, bedside bouquet, fragrant sachet...
  • use fresh lavender next to your bed to sleep better at night...
  • make hot or cold tea, lavender lemonade, lavender chocolate desserts of all forms, herbal additions for cooking...
  • use lavender essential oil for aromatherapy, in healing remedies, for soothing bug bites, in beauty treatments and spa products...
  • lavender in candles creates a beautiful fragrant atmosphere while soothing moods and inspiring peace...
  • use crushed dried lavender in closets to deter moths or silverfish, use lavender essential oils with others to create a wonderful insect repellent...
I could go on, all you have to do is do a web search and you could spend hours finding more ideas for using lavender.  I will leave you with a quick list of purposes for using lavender in beauty or personal products then I look forward to your visit this weekend at the Lavender Festival .

Lavender effects:
  • promote a healthy scalp, heal dandruff, cause hair growth and bring restoration...
  • heal acne, sooth irritated skin, reduce inflammation...
  • create calming effect, relieve headaches and stomach discomfort...
  • an analgesic, anti depressant, and antiseptic ingredient in many remedies.

So may your weekend be filled with wonderful natural fragrance, take care...

Personally I will be at Los Ranchos de Albuquerque Growers and Arts & Crafts market - drop on by if you can, I'd love to see you!

Wake me up!

I almost didn't even have time to post this about market tomorrow...I will have a stand at Los Ranchos Grower's Market again tomorrow- from 7am-noon.

Los Ranchos Grower's Market

I also am so excited to have created a new body scrub that is just phenomenal!

It has coffee, coconut oil, sugar, avocado oil & a couple of other ingredients and it works fantastic!  I was reading about coffee improving your circulation, exfoliating your skin, energizing your mood...all lovely qualities, then I read about how people are seeing coffee used to reduce cellulite!

Hold on-this can't be.   But it is true!  I have created this combination of ingredients that actually visibly is making my skin so youthful and YES it is decreasing my cellulite marks as well as diminishing those pesky old stretchmarks from my ahem, last baby. Well, I guess that really is no excuse, she is 25 now.  I just have a lot of evidence that I did bear three healthy 10 pound children, had 10 pounds worth of tumors removed when I was 40 and overall carried too much weight in my middle for too many years.  So this scrub is a tremendous thrill for me to create and use!

So, come to market tomorrow, see what I have.  I will have a few pretty glass jars of this new scrub, plenty of lotion and sunscreen, even a new lotion fragrance~ Sandalwood~ mmmmm.

Enjoy the music, food, and fresh fun at the market in Los Ranchos tomorrow!

Until then, remember to Think Natural!
