Thankfulness...

As we enjoyed each others companionship, great food, a warm fire and a peaceful moment yesterday I looked around and felt a surge of gratitude and bliss.  I have so much to be thankful for.
I wanted to mention that before I have to post an announcement for those who didn't catch my recent transition, and an update for those who realize what's going on.

I no longer have a market stand,
I no longer have an online store with Etsy ( ThatOneThing and ThinkNatural are both closed),
I am not planning on anything specific for the future but as I figure out if there is anything else I will be doing I will let you all know.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement during the years of enjoying these business ventures.

My hope for each of you is to have a peaceful, natural, healthy holiday season...

When the end is near...

Its very hard not to take it personally when we fail...but failure brings experience - which makes  us smarter and stronger...

Once again I have to admit, though I have so many people tell me they love what I make, or tell me I have helped them, or tell me I have such a great eye...I cannot live on just encouragement. 

I need sales, I need repeat sales, I need to make more than what I put into the business to be able to keep it going.  I have been trying or a longtime again, and this just isn't working.

As far as the market stand and ThinkNatural, I am closing that as well.  I will only offer discounts after attempting to at least get my cost for supplies I recently purchased for the winter season, please consider visiting my final market stands, I will be clear to inform you when I decide my final event.

Online shopping or the personal touch...

I have been making my Etsy shop available online for ThinkNatural where you could order my natural products for quite some time now.  I have seen very little activity doing this.  I have also had several of my products not hold up well in transport when going to market so I know they will not ship well. I have tried various types of packaging, shrink wrapping, many ideas and I have realized they would not ship well at all.

So after much deliberation  am going to provide very minimal online for sale, but will have many fresh items at market in person available each week. 

You will have choices though, you can either

• see me at Los Rachos Market every satuday from 7-noon,
• arrange a public location for us to meet to exchange products,
• or consider planning a event in your own space for a few to gather and hear about making simple choices and have an opportunity to pick up what you need and hear what's new.

In he past I have held events in homes, churches, etc. and presented ideas to create your own healthy home and lifestyle as well as offer new and exciting products in the comfort of a space among friends.  I would gladly chat with you about this option, customize the event for your group and create a healthy, informative time to learn, participate and take away simple thoughtful ways of making your life more natural and beautiful as well.

Already?

I cannot believe we are looking at August this weekend already.  This summer is really flying by, I know that is said way too often, but this time I am really feeling it!

We recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary of living in New Mexico- this has been an exciting and amazing year.  We have had some trials and many joys and are so pleased we made this move.

And now it's time for another move, we are leaving our apartment complex with the 3rd floor space that has outside steps, leaving the beautiful view of the Sandia mountains, leaving the traffic and noise that are a constant background buzz...and we are moving into a little adobe gem which will actually be central to all my hubby's work, be on the quiet end of a street, have a lovely yard and garden area and walking trails right there yet within the city of Albuquerque.

So in making this announcement I am letting you know I will be a little even less attentive to the intenet for the next few weeks. I know, I need to work on this!

I will still keep my Saturday routine and be at Los Ranchos Market each week from 7am-noon.  I will have my Etsy shops open but I will also have a treat for before the whole move-  This is the announcement from my vintage shop ThatOneThing

Finding life in old things...

I am ready to start this week off right.  I have been able to do so much today already and I thought I would shoot you a quick post to remind you/inform you that I do have another Etsy shop.  This is what you see the new link on top of this blog goes to.

I call the shop ThatOneThing because I am trying to find that one thing that reminds you of a sweet memory, or is still really useful though someone else thought it was lifeless and ready for the junk pile, or that funky eclectic piece you just can't find in the market now a days.

I love to find purpose in what others find useless.  I feel the same about lives...often we treat some people as though they are too far gone, or too old to matter, this saddens me.  If we look carefully all around us we can see new life being breathed into almost everyone.  It takes patience and care to see beyond the wounds, aging or anger to find the person worth reaching out to.  I love to reach into people's lives and pull up to the surface their natural beauty and say 'see- you still have some worth to you!'

So, as far as this idea to have a shop where you can find old pieces from the past and enjoy them again, this is just another way to bring life to the surface.  Sometimes I leave things as I find them and just offer them as they are, sometimes I alter them- hopefully improving or enhancing them.  Some day I would really love to have a physical location to visit, a shop with a work area to re-create things, a place to teach others how to repurpose, a space for people to drop by and grab a cup of coffee when they need to unwind a bit.  Ahhh, someday, but until then- Please take some time to look at what I have found recently, I hope you find that something you were actually looking for...
